There are two main opportunities for you to engage in prayer with us at Cogges Church:

1) Prayer Ministry Where individuals are seeking prayer for themselves around a specific area of concern or need in their life, or simply wanting to grow closer to Jesus.

2) Prayer Meetings – Where we gather as church or in a small group, to pray into wider matters relating to the church, our community in Witney, our nation or the world. We also have a number of prayer meetings that focus on specific organisations that we support as a church financially and as mission partners.

 1) PRAYER MINISTRY AT COGGES

We all need other people to pray for or with us from time to time. If you would like personal prayer for a specific issue, need, or simply want to grow closer to Jesus, we have teams of trained people who would be delighted to pray with you.

PRAYER MINISTRY AT SUNDAY SERVICES

We encourage everyone to come forward for prayer at the end of our 10:30am Sunday service at Wood Green School. The prayer co-ordinator will direct you to two prayer team members who will stand with you in prayer and look to God to work or speak to you about the matter you are bringing to Him. It is up to you whether you tell them what you would like prayer for or simply say “Just pray, thanks.”

PRAYER MINISTRY APPOINTMENTS (PMAs)

Sometimes we need deeper prayer than is possible in the short time following a Sunday service. Prayer team members may offer to put you in touch with the prayer ministry appointments (PMA) team coordinator, who will then contact you to talk about it. Alternatively you may prefer to contact the parish office yourself: office@coggesparish.com.

PMAs provide a private space to receive help in bringing your needs to the Lord and allowing him to minister to you. All of our PMA team members receive on-going training, but we are not professional counsellors.

We do not normally offer appointments to those receiving counselling or therapy from other sources, nor to those who are not in regular attendance at St Mary’s.

What Happens In a PMA?

A PMA takes place with two of our trained team members and lasts around 90 minutes. We offer a willingness to listen and a desire to be a channel through which the Holy Spirit may speak and work. It is God, not us, who brings grace and freedom, healing and wholeness.

Sometimes people go on to have one or two further appointments. Occasionally your team may suggest a single-issue ministry session with members of the church who are trained in Restoring the Foundations (RTF) ministry.

To arrange a PMA or to find out more, please contact the Church Office on 01993 779613 or office@coggesparish.com.

PROPHETIC PRAYER APPONTMENTS

We believe that God speaks today, that he desires to speak to us directly and through others to build us up and encourage us. If you would like a small team to seek God with you, for his heart for a situation or simply just to be open to what he might want to say to you at this time in your life, we would love to do that. Please contact Nikki Nash for further details.
