CHILDREN’S CHURCH

Children are very welcome at all of our church services. Children’s Church is runs during our 10:30am service at St Mary’s Cogges for all 0-11 year olds. We meet in three age-specific groups: Sparks for 0-4 year olds, Flames for Reception-Y2s, Blaze for Y3-6s. Please just turn up for these groups and register your child when you arrive so that the leaders know who to expect. Please allow time before the service starts to register in the Church Centre and the welcome team will be very happy to help you with this. All children stay in the service until after the second song when they are then invited to leave to go to their groups in the Church Centre. We encourage the children to explore and develop their faith though looking at the bible, worship, encounter, craft, fun and games.

We believe that the family is the key place for children to develop and grow in their faith, and we aim to support families in their development and journeys of faith through communication, gatherings and parenting courses.

In our Vision, our main aims for our Children’s Ministry are:

  • That we seek to become a vibrant place of age-appropriate prayer and worship

  • Our children's ministry will be a place where lasting strong friendships are formed and nurtured

  • The children will be constantly growing in their Biblical Literacy, spiritual giftings and walking with the Lord

  • The children will be discipled and, in turn, encouraged to serve the church and evangelise to their friends

  • To continue our current outreach activities, whilst adding new activities in increasing frequency.

  • We will support the team in line with the main church vision to step into their callings and giftings

  • We will be continually supporting parents, who are the main disciplers of the children in our care, in a practical way

  • We become a welcoming and safe environment for children of all ages and abilities.

COGGLETS

Cogglets is a baby, toddler and carer group run by St Mary’s Church in Cogges. We welcome all children aged 0-5 years and their parents or carers. You will be welcomed with a fresh cup of coffee or tea and friendly face. At Cogglets, our focus is on the carer. We believe that if you are well cared for, the children you are caring for will be too.

Cogglets meets from 10am to 11.30am (term time only) on Thursdays at Madley Park Hall, OX28 1UE and on Fridays at Cogges Church Centre, OX28 3LA.
